About Us

Our Mission

Our story began with our amazing son, Wylde, who was diagnosed with tubulinopathy. As we navigated his diagnosis, we quickly saw how powerful connection, movement, and animals, especially horses, could be in supporting his growth, regulation, and overall well-being.

What started as a way to support our own child soon opened our eyes to a much greater need. We realized there were so many other individuals and families walking similar paths, seeking connection, healing, confidence, and a place where they felt truly seen and supported.

Wylde Horses was created to be that place. Today, we are proud to serve individuals of all abilities, offering equine-assisted therapy and learning in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.  We service over 110 individuals and guide over 140 lessons a week. Each lesson being its own unique and catered experience based on needs and goals.

Our mission is to empower individuals of all abilities to achieve physical, emotional, and personal growth through the healing power of horses. We are dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where participants can build confidence, enhance their well-being, and discover their full potential through equine-assisted therapy and learning.

Equine Assisted Interactions

Our Equine Groundwork Program offers a powerful, horse-centered experience without riding, allowing participants to build meaningful connections while working alongside horses on the ground. This approach is intentionally designed to support individuals who benefit from movement, structure, and interaction in a calm, controlled setting.

Through guided groundwork activities, participants continue working toward therapeutic goals such as communication, balance, coordination, and confidence — and often so much more. Groundwork naturally supports self-regulation, emotional awareness, behavior support, and trust-building, as horses respond to energy, intention, and consistency.

Participants learn to read body language, practice patience, set boundaries, and develop leadership skills, all while forming a respectful partnership with the horse. This program is highly adaptable, meeting each individual where they are and allowing progress at a pace that feels safe and empowering.

Groundwork reinforces the same therapeutic outcomes as mounted sessions while offering additional opportunities for connection, mindfulness, and personal growth — both with the horse and within oneself.

Equine Assisted Therapy

Our Equine-Assisted Therapy program is built around the understanding that every individual is unique. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to meet the specific physical, emotional, and developmental needs of the participant, allowing goals to be addressed in a supportive, engaging, and empowering environment.

We work collaboratively with families and, when appropriate, outside therapy providers such as Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP), Occupational Therapists (OT), and Physical Therapists (PT) to help reinforce therapeutic goals across settings. This team-based approach supports consistency, carryover, and meaningful progress beyond the arena.

Through guided interaction with horses, participants develop strength, balance, coordination, communication, emotional regulation, and confidence. Horses offer immediate feedback, helping individuals build trust, body awareness, and self-esteem in a way that is both natural and motivating.

Above all, our program prioritizes safety, inclusion, and connection. By meeting each participant where they are and honoring their individual journey, we create opportunities for growth that extend far beyond the ride.

Animal Interactions

Our Animal Interactions Program offers a safe, engaging space where children can explore, connect, and learn through hands-on experiences with animals. Designed with sensory needs in mind, this program encourages curiosity, confidence, and emotional regulation through gentle, guided interaction.

Children participate in activities such as grooming, feeding, and observing animals, along with time in our sensory play zone, which supports tactile exploration, movement, and imaginative play. The environment is calm, welcoming, and adaptable, allowing each child to engage at their own pace.

Gardening

Our Gardening Course provides a hands-on, calming environment where children can learn, explore, and grow through nature-based experiences. Designed to support sensory engagement and emotional well-being, this program invites participants to connect with the earth while building confidence, responsibility, and patience.

Children take part in planting, watering, harvesting, and caring for the garden, engaging all senses through soil, textures, scents, and seasonal change. The rhythm of gardening encourages mindfulness, routine, and a sense of accomplishment, allowing each child to participate at their own pace.

Arts and Crafts

Our Arts & Crafts program at the ranch provides a creative, hands-on space where participants can express themselves, explore their imagination, and build confidence through art. Set in a calm, nature-based environment, this program encourages creativity while supporting emotional regulation and fine motor development.

Participants engage in a variety of art activities designed to be accessible and adaptable for all abilities. The process of creating allows individuals to slow down, make choices, and experience a sense of accomplishment in a supportive, judgment-free setting.

Arts & crafts offer valuable opportunities for self-expression, focus, problem-solving, and emotional release, while also fostering independence and pride in one’s work. At the ranch, creativity becomes another pathway to connection, growth, and healing.

Wylde Horses Monthly Camps

Wylde Horses Camps offer a unique, immersive experience where participants can explore, learn, and grow in a supportive, nature-based environment. Our camps are held one Saturday each month, year-round, and run for 4 hours from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, providing a structured yet flexible experience that supports engagement, routine, and fun.

Each camp day features rotating stations that may include equine-assisted activities, groundwork, animal interactions, gardening, arts and crafts, and sensory play. These experiences encourage connection, creativity, confidence, and hands-on learning while supporting social-emotional development, self-regulation, and positive peer interaction.

Our staff meets each participant where they are, allowing campers to engage at their own pace while building skills through structure, routine, and choice. Camps provide meaningful opportunities to develop independence, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving in a safe and nurturing setting.

Above all, Wylde Horses Camps are about connection—between participants, animals, and the world around them. Every camp is guided by patience, compassion, and the belief that growth happens best when individuals feel safe, supported, and celebrated.
